Mongolian Hepato-Pancreato Biliary Society

Brief History of the Chapter

The Mongolian Hepato-Pancreato Biliary Society was founded by group of leading HPB and general surgeons of Mongolia and Prof.Chinburen was elected as President of the society, when he was the head of HPB surgery department of National Cancer Center of Mongolia in 24.Jan.2015. 

The founding objectives of the Society were first the advancement of the science, innovation and “state of the art” of liver pancreas and biliary surgery. Also the promotion of friendship amongst sub specialized surgeons of different National hospitals. Mongolia is ranking first place by liver cancer mortality (WHO, Globocan 2017), surgical results are reflecting by not just surgical technique, it is reflects by stage of diagnosis. Therefore our society is not just enhancing the diagnosis and treatment, we are coordinating with the governmental program.  

The MHPB Society organised the First Mongolian Laparoscopic and Endoscopic Surgery Congress in 2015, to reunite all Mongolian surgeons specially involved in Minimal Invasive Surgery, that congress became an annual event and we are preparing for the third meeting in 2018. Our biggest event is a Japanese Mongolian Joint Symposium which is organised every year and the upcoming 10th congress will be held on 24-25, August 2018 at Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
