Brief History of the Chapter

The HPB Department of the Chilean Surgical Society was created in 2006 and joined the IHPBA as a chapter in 2011. Actually they have more than 50 active members, many of them IHPBA members. The chapter is committed to disseminate the best treatment practices between its members and the Chilean surgical community, and encourages multidisciplinary approach to HPB diseases. The chapter maintains several academic activities during the year, like key note lectures, video sessions, round tables, and case discussions. At the Annual Congress of the Chilean Surgical Society in November of each year, the chapter organizes and leads a workshop of the specialty focused to educate, share experiences and promote the best standards of care for HPB patients.
